Gerber baby food?

It was a thought that came to me while eating applesauce. My birds are such children when it comes to eating vegetables. Itís been a real struggle. They see it, they avoid it, no matter what tricks I...

Re: New Flock Member

Yeah no joke. Seed only, to pellet only arguments, to need a healthy blend of both, to including fresh fruits/veggies, mash mixtures, bread recipes for them, you name it. It was difficult keeping up...

Re: New Flock Member

I suppose since he’s been with them since Saturday afternoon, it would do little good to separate them now. I got him when I ordered the cage. So it’s been almost 3 weeks separated. Little more than...

Re: New Flock Member

Do things really spread that badly with them to need them in a completely separate room? I always thought it was separate cage, don’t let others nearby, for at least 2.5 weeks. I recall being told...

Re: New Flock Member

I thought it was at least 2.5 weeks? Away from the others in separate cage. I never knew it had to be a separate room.

Re: New Flock Member

I do appreciate the concern. It is actually not a toy, but a circle hanging perch that Lily likes to sleep in 95% of the time. She has yet to chew it. I am aware the moment I see any signs of...

New Flock Member

Hello everyone. I guess the...bird...is out of the...cage??? I would say cat is out of the bag but uhh, bird forum. Three weeks ago, I ordered a huge cage for Lily and Snowball. So huge, many have...

Re: Pros and cons of Parrotlets?

Seeing as you have no responses, I may as well attempt this. I’m no expert as I’ve only ever owned the one, Lily, but I’m sure she’s just your average parrotlet.

For starters, think of them as the...

Northern White Faced Owl. Not exactly a “bird”, but it has feathers and is a creature of flight still. Very interesting how it changes forms based on threat level. I like the “dracula” form...

Re: Bird chose my husband - yes this is a problem...

Haha I have this same problem with my cousin right now. My cousin is not a bird person, nor does he interact with Warbeak in the slightest. Yet for some reason, whenever she hears his car beep, or...

Re: Happy Hut question

I actually just had an incident involving two huts I bought for both my fid cages. It was kind of like a teepee hut with the bottom open and a perch for them to stand on as their back should snuggle...

Re: Lily Update

I’m glad to report that the medicine has worked and she’s no longer wheezing as of last week. She’s still not too happy with me though. Flinches any time I come in sight and hides. Gave her a week of...

Re: Disgusted by the exhibiting process of show budgies

Ah man, what a depressing thread to read through. Iím surprised this is the normal for the average training of a show bird. What I donít get is how itís even normal and acceptable to do these things....

Re: A bit of a freakout today... what to do?

If it’s of any consolation in the flight department, I grew up owning budgies. They ALL did what you just described, multiple times a day. They’d get very chittery, start some squawking, then fly in...

Re: Lily Update

Yeah it’s been really hard seeing the backwards progress with her in all of this. I used to be able to enter the room and nobody bothered flinching because they knew I wasn’t going to pull anything....

Re: Lily Update

Alright I got the good news. All the vet found was the bacteria build up in the back of Lily’s throat, and all she needs is the antibiotic that I’ve been giving her. And she’s doing so much better...

Re: Choices

I don’t really have experience with nanday nor sun conure (only that I heard the sunny next door to my Warbeak scream a grand total of once and immediately knew it was not a good fit for me), but I...

Re: Lily Update

Alright we got our vet visit in. I don’t have good news or bad news yet. Lily was being a stinker and decided to go whizzing around in the vet room on us...twice. Vet was able to audibly hear the...

Hahaha! Seems I have been doing it wrong after all. Thanks a ton for the link. Very helpful. Iíll have to invest in a good sprout making container. Then wait for it (or them, might buy more than one)...

Re: Conure screams and hearing issues

I like all the helpful tips everyone posted here. I don’t personally own a sunny, but Warbeak was housed next to a sunny and I had to put up with the sunny type screams from a black capped for a...

Re: Monster and His Plucking

Thereís plenty of possible reasons for plucking of course but it definitely wouldnít hurt to give it a try! I just did a quick search for one of the places in Ecuador where one of the species of...
