Not too sure about cockatiels but Amy (blue front) over the years has grown new blue feathers in places he never had. BB (cockatiel) hasn't shown any different then just a normal grey dude.

Amy has shoulder privaledges . He mostly just sits there but in 31 years I have had my share of nips on my ear so if we are in the house he is either on my hand or I carry him about on his perch...

My guy would hang out with me all day if I let him. He can be "screechy" and loud at times ( come get me daddy I wanna be with you!)
He flies well but doesn't buzz all thru the house.
