Re: What mutation is this

I am sorry I'm still learning about mutations so I'm not much help, BUT I do know that you don't find many of these often, so definitely would be one to keep and would do well in a rainbow breeding...

Re: My budgie sprouted a heckin seed in his water bottle?!?

Sprouted seeds are fun...when they're expected. In a water bottle...not so much! lol

I use stainless steel bowls for water and food dishes only. They do fling seeds in their water sometimes or...

Re: Graduating college in 2 weeks!

Congratulations! I graduated 11 years ago and it's been a journey since then. All great advice given so far. My advice is to take every opportunity to be social and be with your friends and family,...

Re: Someone help!!!!!

Hmm...a dilemma!!

My best advice is trick him from focusing on not wanting to be on you by offering a treat to him if he lets you pick him up. That’s what I do when my cockatiels need to go back...

Re: Should I breed my lorikeet with a wild bird?

Agreed with everyone here -- while good intended, allowing the breeding of your pet to a wild bird can be a welcome mat for disease, unhealthy chicks and unseen pathogens. Just not a good idea,...

Re: Green-wing macaws

Hi there,

You'll want to make sure the two birds you have breeding are in their own enclosure -- as with any big mas that breed they WILL get territorial and will need their own space, barred off...

Re: What's wrong with my parakeet help

Agreed there is nothing we can do online to help, we cannot see your bird and we are not veterinarians. The best thing to do for your bird is to find a vet (preferably avian vet) and get them there...

Re: My cockatiel nearly passed away. Here’s how she survived heavy metal poisoning.

Wow, what a story! So so glad that Berry pulled through and you saw it in time to get her help! The cake is super adorable and I'm so glad to see Berry doing better.

Hopefully this can also serve...

Re: Cockatoo never wants to be in the cage

I would start get him trained to be inside his cage more often. Not all the time, but small spurts at a time to get him used to it. It's pretty dangerous to have him out all the time, especially...

Re: Questions about getting an Eclectus or African Grey Parrot

All great advice given so far -- I was one of those kids that got a conure when I was around 12-13. It was the best time of my life....until I turned 18 and had to go to college. I had to rehome my...

Re: Trying for a fall clutch!

The babies are doing great -- weaning well, eating on their own, climbing and flying and learning to preen, chew, play with toys. They are so grown up now, I can't believe they were just eggs sitting...

Re: Updates about Roky

Does he ever go in a cage?

Allowing him to sleep in a blanket overnight (especially with you) could cause hormonal behaviors not to mention it is pretty dangerous to allow him to do so. He would...

Re: About Cage Cleaning

I use F10, which is a veterinary grade cleaner that both sanitizes and disinfects while also cleaning. It's so safe, you can even spray it on the sprouts they eat to clean them.

I buy it from...

Re: 2nd Caique for Existing Caique

Noodles said it -- only get a bird if you want one, because there is no telling if the new bird will like the old bird, or vice versa. Two of my male cockatiels cannot be around each other as they...

Re: New member

It's likely someone's lost pet if it climbed right into the cage, I would definitely post 'found bird' ads in your area as someone is probably missing it!

We got Rue, a female pearl cockatiel in need of a better home, last year on this day from one of my husband's coworkers. I still remember the terribly small, dirty cage she was in and how scared she...

Re: Vet killed my Suncheek

I am so so sorry for your loss....

I just completed DNA test through IQ Bird testing on my two babies with a nail clip and a couple drops of blood on a piece of paper, why the vet did not do this...
