Re: Air humidifier safe for GCC?

Awesome, thank for the suggestion! The people on the rat forum recommended an evaporative humidifier as well, so that's kinda funny. They mentioned that the other types cause a fine white dust to...

Question Air humidifier safe for GCC?

Heyo all. I live in the frigid and frozen north of USA and it often gets quite dry thanks to the snow. My hands are very sensitive and they dry out almost immediately and begin cracking and bleeding....

Tori is just confused as to what that bird did to deserve such a fate, lol!

Did she beg for food when it was time to eat?

Re: Safe and natural air freshners

I'm sorry that that ended up happening to you. To say that that was a horrible experience is a major understatement. I'm looking into getting something like the product you described now, but I just...

Re: New yellowsided green cheek conure

What a mighty adorable GCC! Makes me think of when Callum was just a little baby bird.

When I brought Callum home, he was about ten weeks old. He had toys and high-up perches right away in his...

Re: Help: Tail Feathers

From my extremely limited knowledge, and some advice from a different forum, perhaps it's just a white feather that grew in due to genetic variation. It may be molted out and then come back as...

Re: Safe and natural air freshners

Bug_n_flock, It's a yes and no question. I live in an apartment, and both my apartment complex and grandma don't want any of my animals out of my room, so both the rats and Callum are in the same...

Re: Birds and Legos

Luciana, definitely sounds like Callum. If I don't bring him to what I'm doing, he flies after me, or he "dive bombs me." Basically, flies at me, flaps his wings and attempts to hover, makes a mess...

Re: Self-cleaning cage

When I read self cleaning, I was thinking of those bioactive terrariums seen with tropical species of reptiles, lol.

I tend to agree with other members. While I dislike cleaning the cage and his...

Re: Safe and natural air freshners

Awesome, thanks for the help! I'll have to try simmering cinnamon and orange peels! I love oranges and always have some on hand :)

Safe and natural air freshners

I'd like to preface this thread by saying I do NOT use aerosols, those cone thingies, plug-ins, etc. I'm instead looking for safe or alternative ways to help freshen up my living space. Whether it is...

Re: Between a rock and a hard place

I love animals that can make their own fun lol. Callum is a good boy that requires my attention every few hours, but he can entertain himself on his stand or in his cage without me. Callum and I play...

Re: October 2019 POTM Contest!

I'd love to get a picture of Callum with his wings slightly spread out. He, if excited (or when he's about to poo lol) will spread his wings. I'd love to get the contrast between his green and blue...

Re: Conure scared of EVERYTHING

My GCC used to be quite timid of everything as well. New toys, new foods, new everything. He's just like how you described your GCC-- he flock calls me, flies after me, and just sits on me whenever...

Re: Between a rock and a hard place

I don't know if someone had already mentioned this, so I'll add my own little two cents on apartment life with a bird.

I recently just moved into an apartment with my GCC, Callum. Big change for...

Re: HELP! new baby green cheek

Congrats on your new GCC! They are lovely little birds!

Like any new animal, give them up to a week, week and a half maybe (or longer, just go at your bird's pace), to adjust to their surroundings...
