Yes, separate! If they are already picking on each other you are likely looking at two females and they almost certainly will turn on and likely kill each other.

At this age he should be moved into a LARGE cage so he can learn to fly, forage, etc. put him back in the tank at night if it gets cold.

Yes absolutely. Given the choice they MAY have chosen opposite sex mates but same sex pairs bond just as tightly.
