From what I have read in Medical thriller's (Robin Cook just to name one) inhaling 1 or two virus strands while out walking in the breeze isn't going to infect you.

I know of several PF members that have birds with heart conditions and on meds.
I don't think they own macaws but the overall medicine and treatment I think would be similar.

Ohh Man... I never looked at newspaper like THAT.

If you have birds that play with the newspaper I recommend using a cage with a grate at the bottom to separate the paper from the beak.
