Mr. Grumps is being grumpy

Not only has he not wanted to come out now for 2 days in a row, but yesterday the little brat nailed me. Hasn't actually bit me in ages(usually I just get the Beakstorm of Fury while serenaded by that 'tiel squeal of displeasure, but he doesn't actually bite. Just whacks my hand repeatedly with his open beak), and yesterday he caught me right on the crease of finger on the inside of the first joint on my dominant hand's index finger. Snot got me good too, it was bleeding for a bit and is sore now.

I'm not worried he is unwell, except for the actual bite this is pretty much in character for him. Little twerp has several "grumpy" based nicknames for a reason. Lol

Even Hima has been more sassy lately, giving me the beakstorm and that budgie angry beep that they make to mean ➡ "my space go away I angry beep at you!" When you or another budgie gets too close.

That time of year again, eh?

Re: Mr. Grumps is being grumpy

I’m always surprised at how hard Fang can bite when he wants to, although his name is a complete misnomer because he very rarely does. Even when he’s doing his “beakstorm” (love that!) when I give him his heart meds he only really lands glancing blows.

I took Fang to the vet for his checkup not long ago and Dr Jones was sporting a nasty bite on his thumb. I asked him who did it, fully expecting him to say a cockatoo or conure was responsible, and he said it was a cranky male cockatiel! Not my Fang though, he has much better manners
