Any Natural Remedies for Bird Lice/Mites?

I know there are things to feed dogs and cats to naturally ward off fleas and tics because it makes the blood taste bad to the parasites. But is there anything to safely feed birds to repel lice and mites? Perhaps a drop of apple cider vinegar to the water? Some of Oliver's scratching and biting is due to molting or preening. There's something at Walmart called Protect, but it has so many warnings about human contact with it and I worry of what it could do to a bird.

I saw on the net about rubbing olive oil or DE on the bird, but this is not possible with Oliver. Surely there are food or water additives.

Apple cider vinegar is for promoting healthy bacteria in a birds stomach, not for mites and Lice
Do not rub olive oil or DE on, that is a terrible idea, I don't think you would like to be covered in that stuff
I use a product called Moxidectin Plus in a sheep strength to be mixed into the water, and it gets rid of mites and lice, as well as somebody worms
Any specialised bird drugs for mites and lice with Ivermectin and Moxidectin, I am good
Thanks

I know most farm and ranch stores handle Ivermectin (I used to raise goats), but do they also carry Moxidectin? I only need a small amount, as I just have the one parakeet and don't need a $50.00 or $40.00 jug.

Moxidectin plus is a completely different chemical and is not mixed with Ivermectin

Thank you and that only makes sense they would not be mixed. I assume farm and ranch stores carry Moxidectin Plus since I know they do Ivermectin.

Balanced nutrition! These harmful pests are opportunistic. Meanwhile, find a good vet. Good luck! May your feathered friend’s health be restored in a snap!
