Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
I could not resist and gave them some pieces of unpeeled (cold) hardboiled :39: egg for fun and enrichment.

The results:

Sunny was very disappointed that there was all that white and yellow stuff stuck to the nice cruncy bits.
(She only ever eats the shell, not any egg at all!)

Appie really loved the yolk (ignores everything else)

Japie gently reminded me that this does in no way resemble a pellet so I probably put in there to lure him to his death.
(He is willing to forgive me of course- as soon I bring him some real food.)

How do your birds feel about/ react to eating egg?

Mambo pretty much throws every egg he see to the floor, doesn’t matter if it’s boiled or not, he will just attack it until he can kill him (which means exploding it on the floor). However when the egg is peeled, he’s just scared, and if I eat it he will attack it to “protect me”....

Jose :)

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
I don't regularly eat eggs but cook some occasionally for my dogs. Some of the birds enjoy bits of scrambled eggs.

My favorite "eggs" are the chocolate foil wrapped variety available during Easter!! :D

LOL: I eat those outside the house because my hooligans will find a way to get into anything that is mine once they've seen them.
I do not want them eating chocolate!

(Resistance is futile etc.etc.)

Arika - Blue & Gold Macaw
Arika loves the scrambled eggs that Kelly does for her.
She cooks them in a bird safe pan with a little coconut oil on low heat.
I think Arika would chew through the SS bars on her condo to get to an egg :)

A few weeks ago we didn't have any scrambled up for her and I gave her a nice breakfast bowl of snap peas, radish, kale, carrots, jalapeno peppers, diced coconut, blueberry, etc. I placed the bowl in her condo, she looked at it, rummaged around a bit, popped her head up and looked straight at me as if to say "what the H**ll, where's my egg".
OMG, if looks could kill :) LOL

We haven't tried a hard boiled egg with the shell yet. That's next.

Scrambled egg is acceptable.

No other egg forms are of interest unless hard-boiled and in a Nicoise Salad, in which case, the salad will be attacked and dumped, and the egg chunks bitten into pieces and tossed asunder. So sayeth the Rickeybird.
