Syd poops as a rule without a care in the world, but only if he is in the cage. When out there are several designated places mostly chosen by him. Rather than use newspaper I have cut up an old cotton bed sheet into newspaper sized pieces and these are laid in the appropriate places.

Now the strange thing is that when out and wanting to go he gets himself to the nearest spot, carefully peers over his shoulder, takes a position and then checks very carefully that it has landed in the right place.

He takes great care and I suspet some pride in getting this right. The cloths are collected until there are enough for a laundry load and I find it so much easier than stacks of newspaper.

This bird just continues to amaze me.

You are very lucky. My wife would love it if Perci our sun conure would poop only in designated spots.

So far there has only been one accident. He gets this real goofy look, and he starts to get into a certain position we know it’s time to get him to his perch. He won’t go there on his own... yet.

My wife has a goal to toilet train Perci.

I must be honest and not claim the success. He really has done this himself.
