"Kiwi" My Hahn's Macaw and R.I.P. Buddy the GCC-2009 - 2011
Hi guys,
I don't know if this is the right place to put this topic in, but I wanted to know if anyone else thought this was a good idea. The idea is to make a blog about my hahn's macaw baby kiwi, almost everyday, and from the time I get to take her home. This will mostly be for if we want to look back and see what has happened in all the time we have had her. Anybody else think this is a good idea?:green2:

Great idea, it should be fun looking back to see how much your bird changes.

Otheres have done this. I just keep a written one so that if anything happens to me others could know how to care for my fids.

Sounds like a great idea. I had/still have a blog for Alex and myself but I found myself to busy and uninterested in it to update it... Since I bought him home some 3 months ago? (it's here is anyone's interested anyway Home - Alex and Amber )

But being a first time parrot owner (and paranoid about him to boot :) ) I do keep a written record of things in a little book, any vet visits and what they did with dates etc, if he ever gets ill or acts abnormal I write it in too (never had to yet thankfully!) It was handy when he was little, I could record hid feedings and times. Plus if anything goes wrong and the vet asks me how's he been over the last x amount of time, or when I noticed something wrong it's written down so I don't have to guess. There's also his DNA certificate and microchip number in the book so it's in a handy easy to access spot if I ever need it. A blog can serve the same purpose, a record of everything. Plus you'll be able to look back on it in years to come and it would be great!

Keats (budgie) born Feb. 18, 2011, and Raphael (budgie) adopted July 3, 2011. Finn, a Brown-Head Poicephalus, born January 4, 2010, has also joined the family!
I think a blog is a great idea! I'm keeping what I call my Keatsian Log, making notes daily on Keats' activity, what he eats, any new developments, etc. Our vet said she wished every bird owner did that. It's a great way to keep track of everything, and if there's ever a question as to when something happened, it's right there in the log.

I, too, would love to be able to compare our experiences by reading about what others have learned/experienced with their bird(s).
