It would be great to have a reward system on here. For example, you can make a point system from receiving "thanks" along with creating high scores. Perhaps you could gain levels, and receive benefits. Something that will get people to make goals.

I would rather it was for how many post we did, like when you reach 1,000 it's "silver member, and 5,000 it's "bronze member", 10,000 is a "gold member", 15,000 is a "diamond member". Or something similar to that
I don't think people should get extra benefits though, we don't want people out there posting a bunch of useless stuff just to get benefits. This forum is full of great people, other forums I've been on that have goals and extra benefits seemed to have more rude people.

We already have that, once you post so many times you are allowed to PM members, after that you earn senior member status.
A rewards system for # of posts would only encourage people to post meaningless posts to gain a certain status. It would not promote the education, respect and knowledge you gain over time. Most of us who have been here long term get satisfaction out of knowing one another through educated posts and helpful advice to others.
Rewards based upon # of Thanks would only encourage " some " people to thank members to earn rewards. It would also encourage people to make fake profiles and " Thank " themselves to gain points.
Respect is earned long term on the forum !

I agree! When I was on a forum before the bird forum there were rewards for comments and other things, people became jerks. Now I feel silly for even suggestion that as a alternative haha

Yes, something like that would be rather interesting. However, unfortunately like Boysmom said, it could be abused.
I didn't give it that much thought, perhaps you could base the reward system on thanks and limit people to thanking an individual once per day...Though, I'm sure people would still find a way of abusing it.
It's just a thought, perhaps there's a way for it to be done.

Yes, I suppose I could see that as an outcome...If only people weren't like that aha...But then again, people like that would most likely become infamous and everybody would know.
