Moderators, does the forum software provide for sending posters who have not visited in awhile ( a month? 3 months? a year??) a little e-mail, inviting them to rejoin the flock, and how much we miss their participation? If not maybe one of our members who does programing could write a little proc using the member database? So many folks join, ask a few questions or just introduce themselves and are never heard from again

Just a suggestion.

Not a mod but I asked Wendy about a similar feature, tagging, whereby you can tag a poster similar to Facebook. They would be notified that they've been tagged and directed to the thread. Another forum makes used of this great feature.

The answer I got was that it is possible but it would require a software upgrade (not update, upgrade, more luxurious = more money), and is cost prohibitive for what the fourm owners want to spend.

The other thing you have to think of is if they aren't posting now, it's probably for a reason; probably best to leave them alone.

We have nothing automated as such, but we moderators will usually reach out if a valued and contributing member stops posting after a while.
