ParrotForums Unfair! Discriminates against non-macaws!

I notice the pretty banner/logo for the site has parrots on it - a blue and gold MACAW, a green wing MACAW, and a hyacinth MACAW. This is blatant favorism. I totally understand - I mean, you HAVE to have a blue and gold's picture because they are such parrots, but it seems unfair to leave out the Amazons. And cockatoos. And Budgies. Ringnecks. Caiques. Eclectus, of course I didn't forget eclectus, even though it would take two pictures. And African greys, don't get all snooty on me, I was getting to you.

It is a lovely banner. And there does need to be room for posts on the same page. But I couldn't let this outrage go un-posted about. Also it's late, and I've been at the hospital too late with a friend, and my output filter doesn't seem to be functioning properly.

As an Amazon Snob, I must admit that I have also noted this clear favoritism toward our fellow New World Parrot friends!

To my understanding, the listing of the Amazon Forum First, may have been an attempt to get Amazons to look the other way. Based on this rumor and a possible backroom payoff. The Amazon's are taking a wait and see stand on this issue.

I've been hearing people saying the banner design system is rigged! Time to drain the swamp and repeal those macaws! Replace with something fantastic; cockatoos, greys, budgies, eclectus, etc.

Are you saying Macaws aren't fantastic? Cuz Romeo would have something loud and screechy to say about that. (I mean he has something loud and screechy to say about literally everything but still...)

Love your thread about the banner, I'm still laughing! So unfair! So many powerful species with no representation.

Poppy and my quakers have never seen the banner, I'd never hear the end of it.

Ive noticed this too, I figured it was one of those acknowledge but never brought up kind of things. I bet if someone made a really nice one they would consider it, though the one up is pretty nice besides the missing conures... Im pretty good with Photoshop, took a few graphic design courses, but I dont use it much anymore.

The banner up now is really simple to make, just a gradient with a few snipped parrots over it, and a simple lighting effect on the GW/logo. Could easily throw a couple more on.

I have spoken to the Kiwi on this, and he has informed me the stocky green group is happy to see macaws as the face of the forum. Takes the focus off them, as they wish to conspire against us humans behind the scenes and not be in the spotlight/public eye:16:

Well, not exactly

but if I were to give it a go I'd need the .psd file anyway. It would take 30 seconds to add a bird or two but not sure if it would look right or too crowded with additional parrots in between the B&G and Hy, which may be why they have it the way it is. The other option would be removing the BG and Hy and instead add like a branch with a spectrum of parrots on it starting below and to the right of the logo and spanning to the top right, but because its so small the way they have it with just the heads may look better.

She had a knee replacement, so being temporarily not ok is ok. I mostly sit around and write obnoxious but silent things on the Internet while she sleeps and then hand over water, snacks, reattach compression booties, keep her phone charged, etc.

Look, everyone knows that any parrot smaller then a Macaw is not really a parrot, so us Cockatoo, Ekkie, Amazon, Grey, Conure, cockateil, budgie, lovebird, parrolet and finch owners will just have to suck it up. Sssuck. Suuuuuuccck it up.
