Rio (Yellow sided conure) sadly no longer with us
Just had a random though pop into my head, if possible why not change the banner at the top of the forum so it cycles between pictures of different user's parrots?

Could even have for each species sub-forum change it to a picture of the species that sub-forum is dedicated to?

Not sure how feasible it is but just a thought

This subject has come up in the recent past and was reviewed at that time. Although, I do not recall all the details, there would have to be extensive redesign of the founding software (?) or like to allow for changes, or something like that. At the end of the day, it comes down to the cost to complete that work. At some point in the future, the entire platform will need to be revisited as the need provide a higher level of hacker protection and functionality with other software platforms leave little choice in the matter.

I am certain that one of the SM's will provide a clearer more concise explanation.

Yeah I thought it may take a bit of work. Always a potential idea for the future if/when a site-wide update needs to take place

Actually Steven, I think your explanation is spot on perfect. A banner change is not something we've ruled out for the future, but for the reasons listed above such a change is not something on the immediate horizon.

I don't mind the banner not changing but since it was brought up theres a lot of empty space....what about adding a budgie, a cockatiel, a conure, a ringneck, a caique, a lovebird etc. to the banner celebrate diversity! LOL I'm not one of those "types" but if some moderator gets bored....why not?

I'd vote a conure in that case considering the size of our conure committee here

I was going to say kentuckienne,

owing to the amount of Amazon snobs here (and strangely Eclectus owners) I'm surprised it's just big Macs on the banner
