Has anyone else found that replying back to others is tricky? And how do we friend somebody on this site. I would love to have more interaction with other members.

You have tohave X amount of posts before you can send PMs to other members and do friend requests. SO whats on your mind?

What exactly do you mean by tricky, please be more specific.

Thx

Hmm I just replied to a PM and I am not sure it sent. Maybe an issue with the site and not you.

Edit: It seems if you try to quick reply it does not send, but if you hit the "advanced" button it works. Hope that helps!

I belong on another site and all you have to do is hit reply and your reply comes right up underneath the person. And then they get a notification that you have sent a reply to them.

Okay, I understand, but how do you reply to the person on your post? Do you hit the quote button like I just did or do you hit the reply button? And do they get notifications that they have replies?

But do you hit quote or reply? And do people know that you have replied to their comments?

Hang in there. People here are wonderfully friendly! You'll be comfy in no time. If you have questions, PM any of us, including the Rickeybird. I mean, MEEEE!

There are two steps to complete when you are responding to a 'PM' that has been sent to you.

- At the bottom of the PM box on the right had side there is a 'reply' button. This will open a new box in which you provide a reply either above or below their original PM. When you are completed, use the page down key and find the Submit button. This method allows you a more time and space to reply.

- The other and likely the one you are using is in the box under the PM you have received. This method is designed for a quick couple of words and not for a medium to longer reply.

The problem you are experiencing is that the interactive base of Parrot Forum requires it to update between you and the server. This quick response box does not respond well when you start putting together more than a quick reply and it takes longer for it to respond after you press the button.

The pre-set for PM is to send an email to the individual that they have a PM. However, if that person elected to turn-off the auto notice, or not update their email address, they will not receive a notice.
