Thanks for the suggestion!!

Thank you for bringing it up to the other moderators and considering it, Scott.

I think it would be an invaluable resource for Bourke's owners, or I wouldn't bring it up.

I forgot to mention, although the rosy ones get attention for being pink, they are called 'blue vented' because they have light blue to medium sky blue feathers on their under feathers and down

The normals have brighter blue on their tail feathers and patches on sides. I have always been attracted by blue feathered birds, and I find their colors to be so pretty, especially when there is blue and creamy yellow feathers in the mix.

Aw youre welcome

Im kind of torn between not wanting them to get more attention, and wanting to gather more information about them.

I personally found these guys when I was researching which type of bird would be best for me. I just kept coming back to these guys. Even after reading up on them over a year tho, I found out there were things I didnt know about them. Some of the information regarding othetr parrots didn't apply to them. For example, they dont climb because of their physiology. And it's constantly mentioned that they are more shy. We'll see

I think youíre looking at the world through Rosy Bourkeís colored glasses

They are pretty little birds. I had my mind made up that I wanted a parrotlet when I got Bumble (and no regrets) but one of the breeders I contacted suggested a Bourkeís so I had googled them. I donít remember what made me decide against, other than Iíd already made up my mind.

and um MODS IF A PINK PARAKEET EMOJI SHOWS UP BEFORE A PARROTLET THEREíS GONNA BE A MUTINY!

It was out of the ordinary for me to adopt these two birds. I was waiting and planning for the right time. i was reading up on all kinds of birds, to find what I wanted to potentially adopt. A lady was throwing these babies out and after I saw how they were cared for (poorly, an understatement) and how sad and scared they seemed, I adopted them out of there. Best thing I did. I love them so much. As everyone on here already knows, bird/human communication is on a totally different wavelength. They are so magically special.

Anyway, that was a longwinded way of saying, that parrotlets were on my radar. Small & sassy? That is ususally the tyoe of animal I am attracted to, or the type of animal they soon become, after getting comfortable in the family. Lovebirds, too. The violet ones with the black heads, were so pretty. The blue ones, too. Lorikeets , splendids, gallahs... I fell in love with Gotcha the Moluccan cockatoo on youtube, but I knew I just wasnt the right fit for them. And then there are more and more birds that pop up,all the time, that are so lovely. I absolutely crush on Pionuses, and Ive never even met them. But I could go on, conures, blue fronted amazons, etc... Cockatiels! I love their funny personalities. I never felt it through looking at a clip of them . Only in person , did their cheeky personalities come out. One time I saw a singing myna. It sort of looked like a nondescript dusty brown starling, but smaller. There was nothing special looking about it. It had that starling frown, altho its beak was thinner and sharper. But it had the most lovely song. And it had a sweet personality. Ive never found a clip of it or anything online.

Edited to add: Hawk-headed parrots ! I love these guys, with their crowns. I would love to meet one, one day.

And of course, peacocks and button quails... Id love to have a little spread with those guys, and some goats, one day, maybe.
