Re: Wishing for a Bourke's section
Or maybe a section 'Bourkes and grass parrots'? This is at the other parrot forum. For many years they were the one genus but due other color, behaviour etc, nowadays they are 2 different genera. I have Bourkes too and I agree with you, they are different from other parakeets

Re: Wishing for a Bourke's section
I just met my first one the other day! For some reason I thought they were a lot bigger! Such adorable sweet pink beauties. I would love to see more discussion on them around here

I will post a thread in the moderator forum to discuss. Over time the species-specific count has increased, will see what we can do!
Thanks for the suggestion!! ![]() |

Re: Wishing for a Bourke's section
![]() Ive got a couple of rosy colored ones, but my actual preference is for the 'normals.' They have an array of colors, all tucked under their normal wild looking top feathers. I adopted my rosies, just by chance. I love them so much. Theyre a bit tinier than budgies, and other grass parakeets, and they arent an aggressive pink. Theyre mostly pink and pebbled gray. The first word that comes to mind, is diamond. I dont know if thats just my love for them coloring my perspective or not ;p They are petite and pretty, and have a soft chirp. Since I have never had birds before this, I also didnt realize how much they communicate with their eyes. The are black-eyed, and my female especially has large ones that are so soulful. She truly is beautiful. I wish i had a good camera. I want to get some good pics of them to post eventually. It's hard to say you love a birds look more than others, sometimes, but I really think your turquoise conure is absolutely gorgeous. The coloring, of the bright green and turquoise under the light, reminds me of a hummingbird. |

I want to know more about your Bourke's! ![]() Also, I see a lot of beautiful Chinese Crested dogs coming from Polish breeders. I love these little guys, and I love how they breed them in Northern and Eastern Europe to be thicker than delicate, like they are bred in the US. Last edited by buurd; 09-25-2018 at 07:31 PM. |
