Have noticed a few aggressive ads playing today, snapping the page to them making reading through the forums a bit tricky

Yup, that can happen. I have seen it myself.
Different Search Engines had different blocks. So, assure that your Search Engine(s) are current and that 'Ad Blockers' are on!
When an aggressive ad(s) appear. Provide the name of the Product and /or Company and we will report it /them.
I never understood why some marketers chose that route as after a consumer is exposed to that, I doubt that they have an interest in buying.

yeah at home I have adblock on but on work computer's can't sneak adblock on
