Do parrots sleep with one eye open

Many times I came to check on Bobby's water and food before I go to bed, and i usually notice that one of his eyes are open.

Yes, most commonly the one that is looking at you!!

I truth, no! But if they need to check on what is happening around them, they will open a single or both eyes to check what is happening around them. They are quick, so they will commonly be looking by the time you see them. If you catch them sleeping, consider yourself lucky.

I think it’s more a case of being very light sleepers.
thye are pray animals and something could be sneaking up on them.

and sometimes it’s impossible to know if the other eye is open or closed.
