I have a 3 .5 month old male love bird.i have had him about a month and we are bonding ok I guess.he comes and sits with me on my shoulder when I come in the room he seeks me out .recently he has become possessive of everything .when I put my hand down to take the phone away, the string, spoon doesnt matter what it is he gets aggressive and will bite if I don't pull away.he has been 12 inches away next to me playing and has jumped up and bitten me .these are hard bites .what can I do .what is a good method to stop this behavior

Shunning. Its how adults chastise babies in the wild. Place him on a handy chair back, turn you back and totally ignore him for 1 minute.
Rinse and repeat X 1,000,000 times until he gets the message. It will sink in , eventually.

Time matters and much longer than a minute and they forget what the shunning is all about! Linkage is more important and any longer from the event, they are off thinking about ownership of something else!
