Stupid Human Moment - Hair Ties

I live in south Texas and with summer approaching... well the extremely hot and humid temperatures, I put my hair in a pony tail. I recently got my hair cut so getting all my hair into a tie is tedious and I place a light mist of hair spray on my hair to help to hold the short pieces.

Today while I was working, Venus was on my shoulder and suddenly had a brown type of rope in her beak, just nibbling away at it. Me? I'm trying to figure out where she got it, it looked safe so no worries on that. It was my pony tail tie.

I redo my hair, new tie, and now have Buddy with me (love that amazon musk smell), and HE SUDDENLY has a brown rope he's chewing in his beak. Dang it!!! My parrots are chew monsters for sure, lol.

D'oh! Perhaps a "scrunchie" over the hair tie might give them a bit more staying peer in the presence of curious beaks?
