Title says it all. If he is not feed when we eats he gos nuts. Also if we have pizza he has to have some crust to work on. We eat chicken he needs to eat the left overs off the bone.
Honestly the best way is to have them eating at the same time, they are flock species and like to do things together with you. I always give some bird appropriate food to mine when we have meals and they love it. Helps with bonding too.
O the bird is a everyone's bird but he loves me. Dont think he would hurt the kids but I keep them apart from holding him. H is goofy with my wife some times.
I guess I'm luckier than I thought. I've tried to get Skittles to eat what we're eating and wants nothing to do with it.
Two nights ago I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I walked towards his cage (he was on top) and moved the sandwich towards my other hand to pull a small piece off and offer it to him. Before I could get it all the way up he screamed like the sandwich was going to attack him and flew into the pantry. I put the sandwich down, picked him up, put him back on the cage and carefully removed myself and my BPJ sandwich to the other room. He doesn't seem to get upset when we eat.
I guess that is the wonder of parrot personalities.
It makes total sense for your parrot to want to imitate you, since that's what they do in the wild. My GCC unfailingly starts to preen herself when I floss my teeth--I assume that she thinks I'm preening myself (which I guess is sorta true)!
