I know I recently saw in a catalog or online a gauntlet-type arm protector for use with big parrots. Now I have googled until the cows came home and nothing comes up except falconry supplies, which are horribly expensive. If memory serves, this was less than $20 and was just something you slipped over your forearm so the bird's talons wouldn't make mincemeat of your skin. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Where do I find such a thing?

I'd personally be terrified to buy one of those due to the little holes (what are they called....eyelets???) Even if they are SS, I am certain both my big macs AND Amazons would take those apart in no time.

Yes you are right but since you would be supervising and hopefully not letting them tear it up since it will be on your arm that destruction wouldn't happen. :D If you leave it down for a second both macs and amazons will be playing with it.

HAHAHAHAH! Yup, I supervise them without me having that on my arm, and you'd be surprised at the speed my t-shirt ends up full of holes anyways. :54: :32: :D

Yours too? But funny - they only do it to my t-shirts or polo shirts. If I have a nice work shirt one...they don't get holes. Incredible. (Now watch, now that I've said that...they will start putting holes in all of my shirts.)

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
I don't handle my birds in good shirts. I handle them in bird shirts. Tear them up all you want... DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING PICKED UP IF I'M WEARING MY GOOD CLOTHES.

My macs put just as many holes in the knees of my jeans when they perch on my lap...

Not to mention a certain little green big mac's proclivity for biting zippers in half...
