I've started with clicker training with my new Senegal, Leopold. I've only worked with him for about 5 sessions of 5 minutes each, mostly just getting him to associate the clicker with good things and to two sessions of beginner target training.

So just a few minutes ago I was hanging out with him and watching youtube videos and was watching one with Kili, the parrot wizard's senegal. The clicker sound in that particular video is extremely obvious. Leo heard it and started looking around. I was confused at first, but the second time he heard it he walked over and touched his beak to a stick (not the one I was using for target training), then looked up at me. I quickly fished for the nearest treat I could find (a pumpkin seed), so I don't lose progress! He seems quite proud of himself!

Clever Leopold! Sounds like he's enjoying his training sessions!

I think he really is enjoying his training sessions, even though he gets bored/tired after such a short time. And I think I can definitely say he's associated the sound with treats! He's such a funny little bird, and so very expressive. I think he and I are going to have a lot of fun together. My house may not be as clean as it has been anymore, but Leopold and I will definitely be having a lot of fun.

Encouraging me might not be the best choice here. I've had Leo for less than a week and there's already more pictures of him on my phone than all the rest of my pictures combined.

lol. I'll start a new thread with some of my favorite pictures of Goofy and Leo. I don't have many pictures of Cookie, and one of the few good ones I have is posted on my intro thread.
