Sorry, I would not use a water bottle! To easy for ugly accidents! Horrible to keep clean, and if you do a few searches, you will find a few folks that lost their baby from dehydration! Bottle got blocked.
I believe you have a GCC, they love to dunk their food! If the issue is bathing in the water bowl, then just get her used to a nice big bowl on the counter. I use a large dog bowl.
All my birds have glass water bottles actually, they all get put through the dishwasher once a week on the sanitize setting. I use a bottle brush to clean the inside.
As for training, I just put it next to the food bowl. I might tap it with my finger a few times to get it a little drippy so they can see the water! They all still have water bowls but I see a preference for drinking from the water bottle when they're not eating. Some birds take too it really easily, others don't at all, so it's going to be up to your bird! My previous GCC Berry used to rub her head against the dripper all the time!
I tried for a few months to get Willow to use it. (Wanted it for emergency in case she spilled all her water, which she does on purpose.) Saw her use it 1 time, the day I put it up. After that, she made it her mission to get it off her cage. I got tired of putting it back on and gave up.
We only use ours in the pakobird and Bacca seems disinterested in it (or incapable of operating it). I keep filling it but I throw a chunk of apple in one of the bowls for backup for the trip and she usually likes that (don't know if she's thirsty or she just finds the apple more appetizing than the pigeon chow).
Curry started figuring out the water bottle after I bought a new one to use. He likes this one more. However in the pakobird I think I'm going to put some fresh fruits and veggies for trips.
I set ours near the food dish. It took a few weeks before she "accepted" its presence and then explored it. Now she uses it when she's too lazy to go to the other side of the cage where her bowl of water is.
