Rudy - Hybrid Ruby Macaw Born 6/6/15 Scarlet Mother/Green Wing Father - Oliver BFA RIP 3/15/15 @ 34yo. Without you, I would not have Rudy. Thank you!
Haven't posted a you tube video before. I hope I am doing this right.

Keep in mind Rudy has done this hundreds of times however the results have been the same since day one. I am sure my eye hand coordination has sped up. I am thinking I should video the process from another close up angle a lot slower. Both Rudy and I are very practiced at this. Here again, the process has been the same since day one. Best of Luck! everyone, comments and frank critiques are most appreciated. My skin is thick!

Okay if that's the conversation you have with him every time it goes on, that is brilliant!
I had an IRN who I trained as per the DVD, and who wore it successfully. It went wrong one day, not entirely sure what happened, but we both got a solid fright after he was tangled up in it. Have tried numerous times and it has never worked. I'd love a close up of how you are getting it on and off again.

thanks Sweatypalms! :D Because I am talkative by nature. Rudy picks up on the different things I say, I sorta tease him, "gimme a chicken wing" "how about a drum stick" etc etc. I noticed that the finer details are somewhat missing because of how quick the process is. Like how quick he has become accustomed to lifting his wing. Early on, I would lift his wing, now he does it almost automatically himself. anyways I can certainly can and will do another video, however it requires my setting up of the camera. Be patient for a new one.

As far as taking the harness off. it is the same process except in reverse, just as quick. I think what happens is that my own quickness is well practiced and Rudy probably appreciates those skills happening faster and faster.

Once the harness comes off, Rudy flies to his perch to preen and watches FNC with me.

Absolutely amazing.
Rudy is fantastic with the whole process.

We will catch up some day. We've just been swamped with things to do at the house and making sure Arika gets plenty of quality time.

DiscoDuck,

This is great! Did you cover his head due to him being nervous when he saw the harness? What prompted you to cover his head? Did he accept his head being covered right off the bat? I would imagine he would shake it off, but he seems to just remain perfectly calm! I love your idea! It's genius! I have been trying to get my conure to accept his harness, but he is so small and high energy that your trick won't work with him. I know some people I the past have slipped it on in a dark room. Maybe I should try that...
