Lots of parrots, most of them rescues
We train a lot and I am coming to a point, where my parrots are getting bored with the things they know.

I have a pair of skates for the larger birds, but they have acrylic wheels and they don't roll very well and slide sideways, as they don't have any grip. Also the balance is a bit off, so once they move on them, they rarely stay up straight.

Also I am in need of skates for the smaller birds (Hahns macaw etc). I can't seem to find any for birds of that size.

AND I would love to find a bike for either the big ones or the small birds, but the only ones I have been able to find is for 200$, which including shipping, customs charges and Danish VAT ends up costing me 400$, which is a bit over my budget.

Does anyone have any links to somewhere (or some private person) I can get better quality parrot trick equipment, which will not ruin me financially?

Hi There. THis parrot bicycle is on Amazon for $49 USD
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VLXX4Q8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What other tricks are you looking for? I am teaching Salty to play pool on a desktop pool table. Miniature shopping baskets are fun to teach them to put different object in it, take it for a stroll, remove the objects as you name them, and then return the shopping basket empty ( cuz we are courteous shoppers!).

We find lots of trick props in baby toy stores or the baby section of big dept stores.

Thanks for the link- will buy that one. It might be just too small for the larger ones and too big for the smaller ones, but it's better than what I have now :)

We're past putting stuff in the shopping cart, putting balls in a net, putting rings on sticks, putting cups in larger cups and past putting coins in the piggy bank. Or we still do it, but it only keeps them occupied shortly, now they know the tricks. Not all of them are equally good at all of it, but the 2 more advanced are getting bored. I can only do so many repetitions and as many of the tricks is similar, it quickly seems to loose their interest.

We are still missing to get the pieces of different shapes to go into the right spots and the correct coloured rings on the matching sticks, but I better plan ahead, as I am running out of equipment fast :D

Right? They get bored if you do the same tricks over and over. Salty has learned so many that we now have enough to do only some of them in a given session (plus I don't want to give him too much treats in one day). Try letting your parrots figure their own tricks out. If you watch Salty's videos, the tricks with the large hoops HE figured out himself - first he started to flip the hoop over his head, and after a while he started with the balancing the hoop in then walking though it. That's all him.

If your at all handy, making a slide is easy using a premade ladder( height of your choice) and a few pieces of smooth sanded lumber. Toy pianos are fun to get them to play it, as is a kids xylophone.

A length of large diameter PVC plumbing pipe is used to have Salty go through back and forth. Start with a small length and cut longer and longer ones as they get used to going through them. We use a hard plastic chopstick for the spinning trick.

We start and end every session with the same tricks,so he knows it's time to learn.

Here is the latest video of our training sessions, about 2 1/2 months ago, with almost all Salty knew at the time- we have added a few since then. Maybe you can get a few ideas from it. I, heck we all, would love to see vidoes of your flock at work!
