Apollo (8 years old Sunday conure), and Ari (7 years old jenday conure) and Cosmo 9 years old goffins cockatoo). All DNA tested females.
Where can I get a good T stand that isn’t very expensive? From what I have seen on Amazon the good ones are very expensive and the inexpensive one are not very good.

Do you mean a simple T-Stand or a play stand? What is your budget?

You can make one from PVC pipe and vet wrap for next to nothing.

I am 71, married and fairly private. I have PM privileges but prefer the phone. Printed messages, are so limited. jh
You can use both the idea's. Make the base and upright of pvc pipe and cut across the " T " just about 1/3 of way up along the crosspiece axis. the part your tree branch is going to lie across is formed. You can drill 2 mounting holes in the pvc T tabs, to mount to the branch. How TALL doe's it need to be and how wide? Final question is how big is your birds' foot grip? I would be glad to make a sketch and send you a pic of that. OH! Do you use dimensions in the American inch or British Milimeter? jh

I am still not sure whether you want a true training t-stand or a play-stand.

I made a stand - a play stand rather than a training stand, but just change what you put in the top! - out of a large plastic flower pot and a chopped up secondhand java tree. I put the tree in the pot and filled the pot with postcrete. It was very pretty because it looked like a growing java tree, but it weighed a tonne!!

I'm going to make more as "table top" play stands/perches this year, they'll be the same, but a lot smaller.

You could do the same and just put a T on top not java wood. Before I made that I was looking at getting a mic stand, a hat stand or a lamp and butchering the top into what I wanted.

It's frustrating that the word "bird" or, even worse, "parrot" seems to be code for "usual price x 5"!!!

If you have a Big Box Store near by, they tend to have a near endless supply of PVC Tees, 90's, etc... Plus a couple of different pipe sized and bits that will let you change from one diameter to another if strength is needed.

Take a couple of pictures with you and look for someone who is a bit older than a college student. This way you get someone who has worked with Odd DYI Projects.
NO!!! you do not want to glue the bits together. This will allow you to change the design later.

Enjoy!

I bet you could make a t stand outa PVC pipe for less than $10 plus the cost of a hacksaw ( which you might have already).
