Other ways of training "step up" onto finger

Quaker - named Blue, but actually green :D
Hi all, Blue and the rest of the family are going well, i think having her out and about all day has done heaps for helping us all bond with her. Still a bit tricky getting her back into the cage but we'll get there.

She's actually very affectionate even if she's not comofortable around hands. She absolutely loves kisses and preening our hair to our surprise. She even tried to step up onto our faces a few times. She loves kisses more than even the pine nuts we've been stick training her with. Just today she finally climbed up on our shoulders to steal smooches, after which she decided to try and pierce my ears but I just dealt with the pain because we were so excited to have that interaction with her.

My question is if I use the "step up" / "step down" command when she's climbing up and off our shoulders, will that help getting her used to our hands and then using "step up" etc...? Or does the change in interaction (shoulder vs hands) tend to thwart that? Really surprised by how fearful of hands she is but i guess it must have something to do with her past. We hand feed her all the time and have been attempting to hold the food in ways that increasingly expose her to more of our hands. Feels like maybe it's just a time thing?

Thanks again!
