bottom grate

Ive had a BHC for about a year...im not sure how old he is but i know he has to be at least 3. Every once and a while i find him at the bottom of his cage...usually just preening, is this normal behavior? His poop is normal, eating normal, no behavioral issues. When i put the cover on the cage...
