And no I did not hurt you Jet. I managed to trim one toenail. He isn't afraid of me but he's afraid of the scarcely silver thing. I've never trimmed a bird but I have dogs. If a anything I did not trim enough. I am being very careful.

I used to teach my birds that trimming nails wasn't a big deal. I'd wait until they were sitting on me, relaxed, and just stealthily trim away while they perched on my finger an offered treats for each nail they let me do. Worked for about 70% of my flock. I use the same method with my cat and he gives me no trouble.
