This is Kellan, my 10 month old Jenday.... Can anyone tell me why he's doing this? He acts like he's still trying to be formula fed. He had just eaten him fill of Lafebers pellets, Higgens Sunburst seed mix, and fresh broccoli and mango. He was completely weaned months ago. I have his hatch date so I know his age :/

Is this normal? Why is he doing it?

Well... just one opinion...

When my darling Rickeybird came to me at 3 months, he was weaned, but continued to do that baby-head-bobbing thing for months, apparently just as a please for attention of comfort or reassurance. I accepted that and rewarded it with cuddles or soft words. It gradualy disappeared over themonths. As long as he is eating well, I wowudn't worry. Let's see what other conure-folks say... :)

Agreed, my only bird that ever did that was a Jenday. I love Jendays. They are dear to my heart.

My black capped conure does this too and with toys sometimes. He is almost 6 months. I think GaleriaGila is on to something.

I did laugh my head off when my birds was sitting on the table, he took a toy in his beak, and Shook like that so hard he slid backwards on the table it was too funny. I might have rewarded the behavior by laughing and giving attention.

I hope so :) he's a pesky thing, but can be snuggley. I tried giving him more food at one point, and even giving him baby food from a spoon. Didn't stop him lol
