Hiya everyone, we've 2 parrots, Mitu is an Amazon and we've had him about 15 years, he loves me but won't entertain my partner Ann, and George is an African Grey. George has taken to Ann and doesn't like me:rolleyes: we were given her (she we think) about 2 years ago. George is the parrot who needs attention as she has been (we think) neglected BIG TIME! she was nearly bald and continually self mutilates. From the time we began to look after her she has improved but only slightly. George loves lots of tickles and time spent with Ann. We hope to make friends here to help our parrots be as happy as they can be :green1: :grey:

Thank you, Mitu is an Amazon Green (that's as much as l know) we bought her (we think Mitu is female) when she was about 4 years old or that's what we were told and because she sort of took to me from early on l guess l'm her mate. Ann can't go too close when she's out of her cage and even when she's in and Ann passes she sort of lets her know not to try any communication! Mitu will let her feed her but that's the same with George too. He lets me feed him and l can play tug with his rope but he has bit me a couple of times when l wasn't concentrating  We made our minds up to spoil George when he arrived and right or wrong we spray him with fine water every day and sort of make a fuss too... but as and when he flaps he loses many feathers. He plucks his chest when we aren't watching him, he will snip his red tail off just when we think it looks lovely and regularly bite his claws. There is a massive improvement in him especially when we think back to how he was when he arrived. Things can only get better. Mitu flies to me whenever she can and softly nibbles my left ear for me to tickle her, l tickle her for hours. On occasion she will land on Georges cage but George will bite Mitus claws if she doesn't move fast enough.

Welcome to the forum! Glad you joined us!

Thank you for giving George a home, do you know how old George is?

We'd love to see photos of George and Mitu.
