ernie, a yellow indian ringneck
i have a now 7 week old indian ringneck who is absolutely impossible when it comes to his feedings. he just learned how to fly last week and ever since i cannot manage to get him to sit still for a feeding, his 12am feeding seems to be the only one where he’ll cooperate enough to eat about 7.5 ml of formula. throughout the day he has fresh fruit and veggies and seed available to him, and i see him eat quite a bit of his seed, but i’m so crazily worried because he weighed 124 grams on monday and now he weighs 116. i called my avian vet and she said this is normal, and i shouldn’t worry as long as he’s eating the food offered in his cage throughout the day, but this is my first time owning such a young baby and i’m terrified of anything going wrong. i literally can’t get him to eat his formula until his nighttime feeding, is there anything i can do?

Sounds like you are doing it right. Keep offering formula 3x a day until he refuses it every time for 7 days in a row.
