13yr. old male umbrella cockatoo,
we call him Amigo!

7yr. old Goffin cockatoo, she IS Sassy!!
I'm sitting outside, loving the sunshine, sandpapering on some wood. Amigo flies in and decides he's horny. Yikes! He lands at my feet and very sweetly and softly is saying hi...hi..

I pick him up and set him on top of my shoulder, I'm wearing a hooded sweatshirt. He starts humping the hood!! Gets under my hair, making out with it, so I put him in the tree next to where I was sitting. Well, here he comes again, I shoo him off and here he comes again! I had to get back into the house to avoid him. Sorry Amigo, I will not fit into your nest. Sorry, boog...

Lol, so it finally happened:D They are very single minded when in the mood for love.

LOL! I guess it's that season!

Yes, he is very single minded right now, thankfully I can hide out in the house! And 'tis the season, for sure!

After finishing my chores in the house, I come back out to work in the veggie garden boxes. OMG! He starts courting me, AGAIN! He's awfully handsome and charming, but...I'm holding out for the regurgitating move! I finally had to lock him in his outdoor cage.

Well, that is the least he could do is some romantic regurgitating for you before he decides to just jump you. I guess my birds are more polite.

That has to be frustrating in an i love you buddy but this just isnt gonna work kinda way :)
Of all the things i have read about parrots, i think this has to be the scariest and one im least looking forward to lol

I feel for the poor guy but at the same time...would I really want to bring a female cockatoo into the mix? Maybe...someday, maybe. From what I understand, that can go horribly wrong, sooo...we shall see.

It's really not so bad, as far as scary, just annoying.

ooo, amigo is in the friend zone! sorry buddy!well the season passes, good luck until then :)!

I thought you might want to know that Merlin decided to put some of her regurgitation into my ear this morning. A beak rubbing around the inside of your ear is extremely ticklish and of course it felt very weird and I had to clean it out, lol!

Yes, Amigo needs to learn how to properly woo you:D Of course us girls would rather have flowers but I guess partially digested pellets in the ear will do.

LOL.....Mine have been acting crazier then usual as well....no thanks for the regurgitate food particles!!!

Our Cameo is a 9 year old umbrella cockatoo and she is also in a courting mood these days. It is quite comical to watch her trying to lure me into her cage but I feel sorry for her. How long will this go on with her? Anything I can do to help her pass this stage?

Ahh yes love...... Mickey has decided to show her's toward hubby by "getting rid" of me:D
