I have an overly busy life (or which might actually be an understatement). I just feel like venting my stress (and I need close friends and family not to know so they don't worry or get their feelings hurt). Forgive me for having what I'm worried might sound like a Pitt parter, but I can't relax and I need to at least feel that I've gotten it off my chest...

We gave my parents land to build a house.... translation: I have to deal with contractors and pay a lot of stuff upfront until we get the ball rolling and they sell their current place. I have to get a septic tank put in, repair our second well, cut down about 7 trees to run pipe.

My house is being (yet again) remodeled in places. New furnace, new ductwork, new cabinets in the kitchen.

I have an eight foot wide by twelve foot long by four foot deep hole in my yard waiting for me to decide the final design of the pond.

I have decided to make a cobblestone patio out of about 400 square foot section of my front yard leading to aforementioned pond.

I have a shop and horse shelter getting ready for siding and roofing materials.

I have to repaint every other building on my property to match. We have just finished scraping and power washing, scaffolding is up, paint purchased, waiting for some time (and energy)

Cutting down crappy dying poplar hybrid trees stupid city people who previously owned the place planted. Remove stumps....

I have started the new 4 rail wood fence that will be visible from the main yard (fir horse paddock section that boarders main property)

I am having new hardwood floors put into the foyer and living room.

Meanwhile I have a zoo to maintain and pay attention to...lol

It'll be fine in the end (we are actually making good progress), but it doesn't help me sleep. Si, I am gonna try again to sleep (5a.m. comes early). I need to make a Dr. Appt soon because there is something wrong with my body and I need to just be sure it's nothing serious (don't worry I'm fine...lol)

Formula recall caused the death of one baby cockatiel, which put me in a sad mood. The birds and horses are all doing well (though the pregnant mare looks a little thinner than I like, so tomorrow I'll separate her from the others and up her feed.

Ah.... I already feel a lot better. I think I can sleep now. :D

Sounds like you DO have a full plate!

I'm doing stuff on a smaller scale. I'm working full time, while trying to remodel my mom's house when I have time. EVERY room needs repairs done, some minor, and some major! We are putting in a new rangetop this week, because my godmother is coming to visit, and my mom wants to make a good impression, and the old stove has only 1 working burner. Oven doesn't work either. The place is a less of a disaster than it was, but it still has quite a way to go.

I've been taking time off work to work on the house. My mom pays for labor to help, and my boyfriend is an estate manager, so he's a HUGE help, but it's still a lot! PLUS, we have a mentally ill roommate that my mom is taking care of.

Just reading this made me tired, but just think how beautiful everything will look when it's all done!

I must admit, I admire you and your stoic attitude, I've expressed before how much I'm jealous of your life style, with the aviaries and many pet birds+horses etc. But it really takes a special kind of someone to do that, you'll get through this. May we see pictures of the before/after project. I'm especially interested in things like the pond etc. Are you planning on having fishies in there or just a pretty pond? :)

Life IS what happens while you're making plans!

When I find a bit of time I'll put up some pics. Remy I feel your pain ti an extent...hang in there. 'Tis the season for remodeling and yard work everywhere! :D

We own our house and property (no mortgage thanks to after fire insurance), so we figure we're going to retire here, so why rush? Lol! What upsets me most is that with all the big equipment work going on, my yard is full of weeds and my obsessive nature makes it impossible not to get angry about crabgrass and bare patches. I just want to go away for a few months and come back when it's perfect. I had to move the outside aviaries and the ground where they're at isn't level, so they bug me too. We had an unexpected visitor yesterday and his house and yard are perfect, and I couldn't help being embarrassed ... he is usually a pretty mean spirited guy, but all he said was "it has a lot of potential" after I walked him through what we're planning, he said "wow this will be amazing".... if only it was done... I forgot to mention we used a bobcat to remove over half of our gravel driveway, put in a retaining wall using railroad ties (ever lifted one?... don't ) now we are putting in a sidewalk from the driveway to the house, and another from the house across the property so we don't make a dirt path going to the horses every day. I've also got to have 13 windows replaced, and a company from the city is going to come out and remove our 120 year old stained glass window and restore it and then bring it back out and reinstall it. Gonna be a great year (is it bad that I'm already looking forward to winter? Lol!

All your hardworking will pay off in big time . It sounds beautiful !
