Jasper has yet to do much interaction with us. Since we moved him to the kitchen he is hissing and tail flaring less but still is quiet and reserved. Today I finally got to see some personality. What you can't see is that he starts out throwing the food to the dog. You might also notice most of what he is throwing is his hated orange colored food. He also has started playing with toys or rather shredding them. I can't wait to see more as he gets comfortable with us.

Awww, what a cutie! I'd love the honour of spending time with a Goffins!
I'm sure the story you two will share will be an eventful one full of joy and mischief. I can't wait too see / read more about your new friend :)

Rocky hates orange pellets, too. And my Quakers hate yellow. Some enterprising bird food company should make colored pellets in single-colored bags so we could just buy the ones they like!

Lol!! Looks like he's decided to show you the more colorful part of personality first. I don't know what it is about the food throwing. Bambam likes to put his beak deep in the bowl and turn his head side to side so he could shovel all the colors out at once. I fixed it by getting one of those food boxes that go inside the cage and he has to. Limb up on the perch within it to get to the food. We've had a lot less waste this week but I'm sure it's a matter of time before he finds a work around !!

Rb hates (or loves?) orange foot-toys and so does Archie, another Patagonian... weird...

Did the doggy eat the pellets?? lol.

Oh ya...Jonesy (a.k.a. the cockatoo man..OR...the beady-eyed monster) could and would, throw his grub halfway across the living room floor over to Amy..AND he did the side-to-side shoveling with his beaky. I had to literally fill his bowl three times a day! ( it was a smallish bowl to begin with)
I ended up getting one of those "tidy bowls"..a clear plexi three sided with a top, that hooked on the outside of his house ( I had to cut a couple bars out,to make room so he could get in) and it had a perch inside,so he had to go inside to get his chow...fixed his flinging in no time :D
