A morning biter

Zack is a morning biter. When I approach him for the first time of the day he always tries to bite me. Later he will beak but not the first time of the day.

Has anyone else had this issue? Any way to get it to stop?

Sundance is a morning biter too. He gets very aggressive first thing in the morning when I get them up, taking the sheets off their cage...then he climbs to the top of his cage and struts back and forth, talking to himself. Fiji will come to me right away, but he gets upset so I just ignore him until he is ready to settle down and step up. Usually if he sees Fiji getting some treat he will immediately forget his issues and realize he wants to be good and step up.

Maybe if you ignore him at first, and then let him see you fixing his breakfast or something else that he normally likes?

Kiwi is NOT an early bird, and only wakes up when I take off the covers (I know some birds wake up with the sun, but he'd sleep in until noon if I didn't wake him). He's usually a bit on the crabby side too until he's fully woken up. I usually open the covers so just the front of his cage is open, give him a few minutes to wake up then feed him. Once he's eaten, THEN I take off the covers, give kisses and let him come out. He's usually pretty excited about that because he knows it's our breakfast time, and enjoys coming to the table to pilfer our eggs, bread, extra fruit or whatever we're eating Try giving Zack a minute to wake up before he gets "going" for the day, and give him something to get happy about in the morning (joining you for breakfast, a special treat, kisses/cuddles... whatever he likes).

Percy does that too!! I've just started noticing it recently because I couldn't handle him before at all without getting bitten. Recently, he has accepted me and is very loving and asks to be picked up and cuddled all the time. However, in the morning, he is very nippy. He steps up readily and sits on his T-Stand in the kitchen to supervise my preparation of his brekkie but once he's on the stand, he won't let me touch him LOL!! Usually, I just carry him back to his cage on the stand and place it next to the cage so that he can get to his brekkie on his own terms. After he's eaten and done his morning round of his toy bowls, he seems to settle and then the morning biting is over

I suggest you just leave Mr Zack be until he's ready. Sounds to me like our birdies are morning people, that's all . I am the type who can only grunt until I've had at least two cups of coffee and I'm REALY not at my best first thing in the morning either, so I understand their grumpy-ness
