A Sad Story Of True Love

I first read the story of Anne Lowery and her beloved conure Areba back in March when the story first came out, it really touched me, I came across it on the net and thought I'd share it with you, I have to warn you, it is a very sad story, but it also a story of tremendous love and compassion that we all may gain something from, some may call her crazy, but to me Anne is a Hero, I just wish that everyone who has ever been owned by a bird could be as loving and caring a champion to our fids (fids=feathered kids) as she has been.........

What a sad-sad story. I've come to know a lot of people on this forum that I honestly believe will go to the ends for their kids. I know I will, without thinking twice about it.

It is so sad that there are so many out there that do not even care enough to give the animal the right diet, like the African Grey that I saw yesterday who lived of seeds only, completely malnourished, and, and, and.

I learnt working at the vets never underestimate how far someone will go to save thier beloved pet. Our vets would offer all treatments available, from the basic to the most expensive.

We had one family travel interstate to try an new experimental treatment and spent 10's of thousands of dollars to try and save thier dog when they new it was a long shot. Unfortunately the dog died in that story as well :smile014:

Then you see others who treat thier animals as disposable posessions. I can't tell you how many times I heard someone say "I could buy 2 more animals for that" or "it's just a budgie"

That is sad. But......................I think it's crazy how much people will pay just for their pets. I mean do you know how much 75,000$ could have helped that lady get? You could put it in your account, buy a car, pay for your college, and much much more!

I know we all love our pets but I don't think even if I had the money, that I would pay 75,000$ on my parrot. Even 1,000$ is to high..............

I might sound heartless but that's just what I think...
