Hello friends
I was looking for an advice from you can you help me. I am thinking of getting African Gray or Sun Conure. But I want to know which of these two parrots will be good for me. We all live in a joint family, there are total 7 members in our family, I have a 5 year old daughter. I work for 9 to 10 hours and come home at night.
I love the playful nature of Sun Conure and its attractive color. While in African Grey, I love his calm nature and his clear voice and intelligence

Should I buy African Grey? Or should I buy a Sun conure or should I buy both these parrots? Or don't buy any of these?
Please suggest and shre your wonderful experience.

Thank you 🙏🏻

Both of those would make incredible but incredibly vastly different companions.
I guess that the same is true with every species and each individual bird.

Any chance you can hang out with some parrots?
With parrot owners?
At a rescue?

I have an Amazon and a Macaw, I'd invite you over to witness the madness first hand but I see you are in India.

I don’t think an African Grey would do well in a household with young children in it.
Grey’s tend to be a little high strung.
I can’t speak for a Sun Conure other than I would never want to live with one.
They are stunningly beautiful but the shrill scream is ear piercing.

Hello

First of all, thank you very much for inviting me to meet you there. You said right I am from India.

Yes i rescued a female budgie last year and brought a male budgie for her. The pairing of both was great. I kept it for 1 years, then I let my close friend to keep it. This was just the experience I had when I kept budgie parrots.

As for African Gray and Sun Conure, I have seen both these parrots from a breeder. I have not yet experienced keeping it.

And yes, if I lived in the premises near you, I would definitely come to meet your parrot.😃

Thank you🙏🏻

Have you considered other conures. The half moon is not as noisy as a sun and can be a decent talker. Jenday and blue front conures would be other ones to consider.
