Alex, you will be missed!

This post saddens me to no end, I just found this out ...

Dr. Irene Pepperberg's most famous African Grey, Alex, passed away in his sleep last night ... a formal announcement of his passing, and the cause, will be made on Monday!

This is a very sad, very horrible loss to the parrot community ...

Oh no, poor Alex. I always loved reading about him. I'm so sorry for Dr. Pepperberg, her students and all of Alex's admirers.

Dr. Pepperberg purchased Alex in 1977 ... that was 30 years ago ... I can't imagine how she must feel right now, I would hate to lose a friend after 3o years!

Alex was such a gift to this world and his loss... his memory.

That bond between them.

My heart goes out to her now and my utmost respect and gratitude goes out for Alex right now.
