I was going to add onto one of the other threads about a new member but feel they derserve thier own new threads.

After SB encouraging everyone to rescue a bird in need I started searching for birds needing homes here. There wern't really any rescue centres however I did stumble across a neglected Sulfur Crested who had been rescued by a wonderful couple and nursed back to health. Almost all her feathers have grown back, she's at least 10yrs old - they're not sure how old exactly, and is very affectionate.

I'm just sorting out a time to pick her up but she should be here in the next few days.... just don't tell my husband ;)

Congratulations on your new baby! She's very pretty, you almost can't tell that she was missing eathers.

I wish you all the best with her, please do tell us how she adjusts.

I really appreciate your caring and hope that your spouse does also. What is the new one's name? She is beautiful. Please keep us posted.

My poor long-suffering husband always puts up a token fuss but he's a good man, he'll be ok ;). I now need to convince him to turn our verandah in to a big avairy.

I'm not sure what her name is but will let you know and of course will upload photos and keep you informed

Mel, you're funny. I remember when your husband said that you could have as many birds as you wanted as long as you could take care of them - or something to that effect. Did he have any idea what he was getting himself into?

Congratulations on the 'too. She's lovely and is going to a great birdy home.

Congrat's on the new one......... That is one lucky bird, having you as a guardian.
Sure the birds call you "Mother Theresa". A very deserving name for you.
Let us know how it goes.

congratulations on your new addition! :) So happy he will have such a nice home to continue to thrive in!

Oh HRH I wish he sid that. He actually said "if you bring 1 more animal home I'm leaving" - that was about 3-4 animals ago! :p

I often bring home older dogs/cats so we only have them for a few years before they pass on so it seems like there is a constant stream of little critters coming through our house. I am very sensible though and do stop if I don't think I can give them all the time and love they deserve.

"Chickadee" has arrived! She still has quite a few feathers missing on her chest and between her wings however what she is lacking in looks at the moment she is certainly making up in personality. I'll take some photos tomorrow.

Love the name Chickadee, sure she is going to do well, with all your love, care and support.
Can't wait for the pic's.......

I do love the name Chickadee too! So glad she is home with you! :)
