my new cinnamon gcc is sweet. he loves to get his face rubbed but not much else. he is watching me everywhere I go an looks like he wants to b with me. I still don't know how to get him to trust me enough to get on my hand. he will put a foot on my finger if I put it threw the bars .
Sit with him as long as possible, being calm. Initially, try not to stare at him too much, look away often as if his presence is no big deal. (Staring is predatory behavior, it's hard wired in their genes to fear it). Of course after you're friends it doesn't matter. Eat in front of him, maybe sunflower seeds or something like that, offer him a few now and then. If he takes it, open the door and go back to eating and acting casual. Also, touch-training with treats is excellent. Anyway, everyone has their own methods, just offering a few of mine. . Sounds like he likes you already, it's just a matter of time. Be patient, and good things will happen.
Also, try shelled pine nuts as a treat. They go nuts over those! (Pun totally intended) I usually find them in the produce section of the grocers. Raw is best.
I will try to do that maybe that will help him I just want him to b happy he will allow me to kiss him an he does the bird kiss back . thank you any an all ideas r greatly apprecated
I'm sure it'll work out for you! I wish you the best of luck! just be very patient, it will happen on HIS time...but it will happen.
I'd love to see a pic of your pearly conure, never seen one I don't think.
