Anyone ever used a "bird scaffold" before?

I use "the stick" for Kiwi to step up to as part of his normal routine so it's never viewed as a "punishment" or "bad" thing when he's actually in a bad mood and I NEED to use it I like him to view it as "normal" to step up on a hand or a stick. I came across something called a "parrot scaffold" today. Wondering if anyone has used such a device before? Looks like it would be a lot easier to store (and unlikely to break when I invariable step on it). I'm kind of interested in ordering one, but since I do sometimes like a little space between Kiwi's beak and my flesh in the spring:54: I wonder if the t-shape works well at keeping a zon in a foul hormonal rage at bay:20: I'm already ordering a new small table top perch off this website (on a PREPAID debit card, since I'm always a little leery of ordering from overseas sites using my actual credit card lol) and thought for $16, this may be worth putting on my order

I didn't know they made one either, but it looks kind of handy for handling aggressive parrots.

Raven was stick trained by his breeder (which was nice of her), but he has long since forgotten and is scared of it now, since I've been lazy to work with it with him. This reminds me that I need to start doing that. Pionus males have quite the "reputation" also. I should start with Griffin too while he's young. Robin uses a stick fortunately for me! I think stick training is essential when you have a mature parrot especially species in which the males can be 'not so nice' :16:

Julie- I think you definitely should re-stick train Raven! You also need to work with that naughty (but adorable) little gray thing too He's gonna be trouble with a capital T come puberty lol:20: Actually, I think ALL birds need to be stick trained, and all should regularly ride on the stick. Makes the stick a un-traumatizing, non-punishment when you need to use it Just my opinion though.

Kiwi will step up to ANYTHING that looks stick-like. One day he seemed kind of curious about my duster (he's curious about anything you have that he doesn't), so I showed him the handle and thought he would touch it with his beak (which is how he explores new things). I didn't even give the command, but he waddled over and clambered right up on the whole 4 or 5" of handle on the duster and gave me that "are we going to start moving now" look lol

I was wondering if the "T" design of this gave a good cushion of safety, but it seems as though no one has ever used one of these so if I get one, I'd be the guinea pig. Must be one of those "things" that are only used overseas. I can imagine it isn't always used with "well trained", overall happy birds who have some hormones raging. In trying to be understanding that there are different ways to care for parrots, I see many of the overseas bird products on this site come with a place you can secure your parrots ankle shackle:52: The scaffold AND little perch both have a spot I could chain Kiwi too. I'll just use the loop for toys on the perch and remove the clip altogether on the scaffold though

Ha Ha , Do you know how stressed I get when one is not in sight . One time Tequila got this crazy idea and crawled up on my stomach when I was laying on the couch. I had no stick [ for him to step up on] and was stranded. Needless to say I was calling for help
