Probably two years ago I filled out the paperwork with PACT to be a foster for any service personnel from my area that is being deployed. I just received an email from the Coordinator asking if I was still interested and to contact them ASAP.

It has been so long, I just presumed they only worked with cats and dogs. But now that I've got an email (no details), curious if anyone here has ever been involved with the program?

I am more then happy to make room for another cage in my home if it means supporting our military (my husband, father, father in law and hubby's best friend all served), so I'm very much in favor of anything we can do to help those serving and defending our country. Just curious if anyone here has ever fostered (even other then a feathered family member).

Thank-you, for joining a program that fosters for military people who are being deployed!!!

Please remember that Parrot People are a very small percentage of the population and that the majority of those with Companion Parts have family members that their Parrot would be staying with. So, to have two or more years pass, IMHO would make sense.

You will find that individual will be very 'thankful' for your willingness to accept their beloved Parrot while that individual is providing us the line of safety in this World today!

Bless you for this act of kindness!

We have been waiting for six years!

Bless you, Jen, what a wonderful program! I had never heard of it, but I am so glad you did. Someone will not have to worry about their feathered baby, which will take one worry away at least.
Kudos to you, my Friend, you are doing an amazing thing.

I have not heard of that program, though we did sign up with DoD (dogs on deployment) to foster but we have never been contacted.

A wonderful idea, Jen!! Just one more way to support the troops and ease their minds before a deployment.
