Since Aratinga's are family to the conures i figured i'd post this here.
A friend of mine has a GCC but wants to expand.
He would like a bigger bird but as the title says he has allergies.. like me
his allergies are mainly to cats, dogs and probably some other pets, also he has mild asthma.
Right now he only has a GCC and it does not bother him.
first thing that came to my mind was; get an elcectus.
But he does not really like them that much.
So i've been doing his research for him and came across Aratinga's.
Now what i've found is that they are family to the conure species. And therefore , since he tolerates his GCC, i thought he might get one of those, so i showed him some videos about them and he read about their behavior and really fell in love! (he's not the only one btw
)
Now the realy question here is: Are aratinga's dusty birds? (or are they know to trigger allergic reactions like Greys, tools & Tiels do?
Or are they really like the regular conure? (known to be hypoallergenic)
BTW the ones he's interested in are the "Dusky Conure (weddell's conure)" and the "Blue Crowned Conure"
