I have been reading a lot about the importance of a good quality diet for Amazon's. I know they cant have salt. But I was curious as to what type of human food they can eat......

1) the veggies from a frozen bag mixed veggies ok?

2) raw or cooked?

3) fruits? so far he loves banana's. anything else you find they like? he didn't even go for the apple. lol. I want to find a variety for him so he don't get banana burn-out.
also, he want eat millet spray or the treats I bought.

4) he will drink from my glass though and will throw that foot up for a "high 5" to try to get it. lol

With the exception of the known no no's (Chocolate, guacamole, etc) Our vet says that anything we eat is perfectly ok and recommended as part of their diet. We make up a mix of diced tomato, brown rice cooked in chicken broth, peppers, corn, Chick peas and broccoli with light seasoning (no salt seasoning and a small dash of garlic powder and crushed pepper) They LOVE it. The get it every morning as their breakfast. Then at night we share whatever we are having. They have their pellet mix dry food all day.

I haven't been able to eat a plate of crackers in peace for over 20 years......

I'm sure it's understood, but birds can have HEALTHY human foods like veggies fruits and whole grains.

Thanks to you all. I love that I can feel better sharing with Sammy.

I share my food if I'm not eating something like pizza or crappy stuff.

Pasta/rice + veggies are OK.
Tihan LOVES meat, but I don't give it to him...

Raw or coocked?... both! it makes variety.

Giving or not human food to your parrot depends of what you eat.
