Are Parrot Toys OK for Dogs?

I have a hahn's macaw and I recently re-worked some of the toys I have for him and removed the wooden blocks that were just too big for his beak to get around. Can I give those to our standard poodle to chew on or is that wood unsafe for a dog to chew on maybe due to splintering?

Just like many bones are unsafe for dogs because they splinter, so are bird toys. Wood splinters could really damage a dog. I would stick to dog toys for dogs.
