Are there any safe candles or Essential oils safe for birds?

So I know that a general rule of thumb is that candles or anything scented is a no-go, but is there anything I could use to keep the bird smell back? I feel like I am constantly cleaning Maddox's cage, which, of course, helps, but I'm hoping to find something extra.

I don't have an answer to your actual question, but I found one of those mini crock pots at a thrift store and make mini simmer pots with water, orange peel, and cloves.
